Description

Our Medium Heavy Duty PVC Tarpaulins sit in a particularly useful size range: large enough to cover substantial equipment, materials and work areas, while remaining practical to handle and secure.

Available in 6m x 6m, 7m x 5m and 8m x 4m, they suit a wide variety of jobs around building sites, farms, commercial premises and larger residential properties.

The 500gsm PVC option provides a lighter cover that is easier to position and move, while the 750gsm option gives you a heavier-grade tarpaulin for jobs where a more substantial sheet is preferred.

Each tarpaulin is made with tough welded seams and strengthened hems, helping reinforce the areas that take much of the strain during outdoor use. Eyelets at 1 metre intervals provide regular securing points so the cover can be tied down to suit the application.

The white PVC is UV protected for outdoor use, and the tarpaulins are pre-made and held in New Zealand stock.

For customers who need one reliable tarp to handle anything from construction materials and machinery to temporary shelter or ground protection, the medium range offers a very practical balance of coverage and manageability.

Choosing the Right PVC Weight

GSM stands for grams per square metre and measures the weight of the PVC material. A higher GSM means a heavier, more substantial tarpaulin, while a lower GSM is lighter and easier to handle.

The two PVC grades give you a useful choice depending on how the tarpaulin will be used.

500gsm is the lighter option and is easier to handle, fold and reposition.

750gsm is heavier and more substantial, making it the natural choice when greater tarp weight and robustness are priorities.

If you expect to move the cover frequently, 500gsm may be more convenient. If handling weight is less important and you want the heavier-grade material, choose 750gsm.

Common Uses

The medium sizes work particularly well for:

  • construction and building materials
  • farm equipment and agricultural use
  • machinery and tools
  • temporary shelter and site protection
  • ground cover
  • trucking and transport applications
  • renovation projects
  • weather protection around commercial or residential properties

FAQ's

Which sizes are available in the medium range?

  • Choose from 6m x 6m, 7m x 5m and 8m x 4m.

Are these tarpaulins suitable for construction and farm use?

  • Yes. Construction, farming, machinery and general outdoor protection are among their common applications.

How far apart are the eyelets?

  • Eyelet spacing is 1 metre or closer, depending on the individual tarpaulin. Some tarpaulins have eyelets at 500mm intervals. If you specifically require 500mm eyelet spacing, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability in your required size.

What is the advantage of eyelets every metre?

  • Regular eyelet spacing gives you more securing options around the perimeter, making it easier to tension and anchor the cover appropriately for the job.

Should I choose 500gsm or 750gsm?

  • Choose 500gsm if easier handling is important. Choose 750gsm if you want the heavier, more substantial PVC option.

Are they made to order?

  • No. These are standard pre-made sizes stocked in New Zealand.

For orders of more than one tarpaulin please contact us and we will quote shipping options.
